Each dressing has a three-layer construction combining a perforated wound-contact film, an absorbent pad and a hydrophobic backing layer. The shiny film side is placed directly against the wound. Overview Melolin is designed as a low-adherent absorbent dressing for wound management. The dressing consists of three functional layers: Low-adherent perforated film wound-contact layer Highly absorbent fibre pad Hydrophobic outer backing layer The perforated film is placed directly against the wound. It allows wound fluid to pass through into the absorbent layer while helping minimise adherence of the dressing to the wound surface.
